Adjustable Art Deco armchair by Fischel
Restored armchair by Fischel from the 1930s. The beautiful armchair received a new spring basket, which gives it a very firm upholstery. Both cushions were covered with new fabric in a pattern typical of the time. Dark red piping on all edges underlines the graphic character of the furniture. The wooden frame and armrests have been preserved in the original as well as the full spring upholstery in the seat. The armchair is very comfortable. IIn addition, the backrest can be adjusted in three stages using a stylish adjustment mechanism in ball design. Here too, all of the original parts have been preserved.
An original label on the inside of the wooden frame refers to the manufacturer Fischel in Czechoslovakia. In 1870 Alexander Fischel founded D G Fischel & Sons (after his father David Gabriel Fischel) in Niemes in the Czech Republic. Alexander was an expert in bentwood technology, having previously worked in the Thonet factory in Koryčany.
