Pair of candlesticks by Paul Wood
These two candlesticks were designed by British designer Paul Wood in 1928. Their shape is somewhat reminiscent of figures from Oskar Schlemmer's driadic ballet. The design is unusual in that individual discs are stacked on top of each other to create the geometric shape. Both candlesticks are made of solid nickel-plated and polished metal. They are screwed together and can be dismantled. The candlesticks were probably made in the late 1970s or 1980s. Her condition is very good. They are completely clean. Commercially available 21 mm thick candles fit in without any problems. A very decorative piece of design.
